Hale County's Lewis Dips into Bag of Tricks

MOUNDVILLE | Even though Hale County won't make the playoffs, senior Wildcat do-it-all Kerry Lewis put on a scoring clinic on senior night in a 41-0 defeat of Akron on Friday night.

Lewis scored the game's first points on an 11-yard run with two minutes remaining in the first quarter.

After a defensive struggle early in the second quarter, Blake Seale found Lewis open for a 48-yard touchdown. Following an Akron three-and-out, Lewis took the ensuing punt 70 yards for another Hale County touchdown. Just eight seconds later, he intercepted an Akron pass for a 24-yard touchdown, making the score 27-0 at halftime.

"I felt that I had to play one of my best games since it was my last one," Lewis said. "It felt amazing to do everything I did. I had to play it up and play tough against them."

Casey Fernandez got in on the action with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Seale in the third quarter and Cody Flora punched in a 5- yard run for the final score. …
