ANDALUSIA | The top-ranked Linden Patriots continued their quest toward a state championship as they shut out the Pleasant Home Eagles 41-0 on Friday night in the second round of the Class 1A playoffs.

Linden quarterback Anthony Robinson completed 8 of 8 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and he also scored on a 7-yard run.

The Patriot defense held the Eagles to just 15 yards of total offense (15 rushing, zero passing) and three first downs. It also had a safety in the fourth quarter.

" I think as far as executing our plan and doing what we wanted to do on both sides of the ball, we did as well as we have all year," Linden coach Andro Williams said. "We put together great drives, and our defense played lights-out."

The Patriots raced to a comfortable 32-0 halftime lead as Robinson threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Marquis Shelton and a 23- yard touchdown to Terris Lewis. …
