Williams Scores 33 for Greensboro Girls

GREENSBORO | Alesha Williams led the way, scoring a career-high 33 points as Greensboro took a 69-53 win over Francis Marion in the teams' opening game in high school girls basketball on Friday night.

Teammate Kasaerian Fields added 19 points with four rebounds and two steals. Cadedra Williams scored eight with three steals.

Greensboro (1-0) hosts Northside on Tuesday in an area game.

Sumter Central 51,

R.C. Hatch 38

UNIONTOWN | Laneisha Brown's 18 points helped power Sumter Central (1-0).

Mercades Ivory added eight points with 12 rebounds. Shaquala Bryant scored eight with nine rebounds.

Sumter Central held a 38-12 halftime lead.

Alnecia Abraham led R.C. Hatch with 17 points.

Sumter Central hosts Selma on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
