Wildcats, Patriots Get Tough Tests in Finales

TUSCALOOSA | Tuscaloosa County High School will get a taste of the playoffs tonight.

The Wildcats (5-4) travel to play perennial powerhouse Foley (5- 4) in a Class 6A showdown. TCHS has already locked up a spot in the playoffs, but coach Lee Gibson looks to use tonight's game as a measuring stick for Round 1 against Bob Jones.

"It's really a blessing in disguise," Gibson said. "It's an opportunity to make that trip and learn what it's like to play in a big atmosphere on the road."

TCHS beat Foley last year but lost two starters to injury in the process. Gibson said he hopes that doesn't happen again but added that it won't stop him from playing full-steam ahead.

"We're going down there with the mindset that we'll leave it all out on the field," he said.

American Christian Academy will get a big test from Class 6A Alma Bryant for homecoming. One side of the field will be a lot more crowded than the other, but ACA's talent speaks for itself. …
