GIRLS ROUNDUP: Holy Spirit Clinches Fourth Straight Area Title

IRONDALE | Holy Spirit wrapped up its fourth consecutive area title with a 50-10 win over Jefferson Christian Academy on Friday night in high school girls basketball action.

Katilyn Taylor led all scorers with 23 points. Tamera Giles had eight points. Catherine Spence added seven.

Holy Spirit (18-1, 5-0) hosts Montgomery Catholic on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Marion County 48, Hubbertville 39

HUBBERTVILLE | Kendra Jackson scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Marion County.

Savannah Smith finished with nine points, nine rebounds and eight steals. Jennifer Ryan scored nine points and had three rebounds for Marion County.

Hubbertville was led by Robin Hubert with 17 points. Jessie Bowles finished with 12.

Marion County (2-9) hosts Hamilton today at 4 p.m. Hubbertville hosts Berry in a Class 1A, Area 9 game at 6 p.m.

Aliceville 56, Gordo 16

ALICEVILLE | Zharia Eddins scored a team-high 10 points Aliceville's Class 3A, Area 6 win. Demia Wilkins had nine points. Alexis Garner had seven points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Gordo was led by Kierra Doughty with seven points.

Aliceville (6-5, 2-0) travels to Francis Marion Friday at 5 p.m.

Paul W. Bryant 57, Chilton County 6

TUSCALOOSA | Ariel Spencer led Paul W. Bryant with 14 points in its victory over Chilton County.

Bria Smith added nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Destinee Wilson also scored nine points.

Chilton County scorers were Chynna Davis with four points and Keona Dejarnette with two.

Paul W. Bryant (7-6, 1-1) plays today at Central at 5:15 p.m.

Bessemer City 58, Northridge 49

BESSEMER | Syrenthia Dean led Bessemer City (14-7, 2-0) with 18 points in the Class 6A, Area 9 win over Northridge.

Northridge's Faith Lancaster had a game-high 25 points. Kiana Johnson scored 10.

Northridge (16-3, 1-1) plays at Homewood today at 6 p.m.

Berry 46, Oakman 16

OAKMAN | Emma Herren led Berry with 17 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Oakman. Karli Milligan added 14 points for Berry.

Oakman was led by Lindsey Harbison with eight points. …
