Bush Steals Home for Brookwood Win

BROOKWOOD | Centerfielder Jake Bush stole home with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to score what turned out to be the winning run in Brookwood's 6-5 win against American Christian Academy on Saturday.

The Panthers were leading 5-4 when Bush scored the sixth run, a run that would be crucial for the win since ACA scored a run to pull within one at the top of the seventh inning.

Josh Winingham (2-3) was the winning pitcher. He threw seven innings and allowed six hits, four walks, five strikeouts and two earned runs. Bush led the hits, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Winingham was 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

ACA's bats were led by Seth Morris. Morris hit 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Brookwood (3-19) plays Central three times this week. On Tuesday it plays a single game at Brookwood, and on Thursday the two teams will play two games at Central. …
