Perry to Play Baseball at Southwest Tennessee

SAMANTHA | When Ryan Perry moves to Memphis, Tenn., his relatives will have a chance to watch him play college baseball.

Perry, a senior at Northside High School, signed on Tuesday to play at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

"When I was younger, it was always a dream of mine to play college baseball," said Perry, a pitcher and third baseman for the Rams.

"You growing up thinking about doing that. It means a lot to sign it and be a college baseball player.

"I visited there twice. I have family that lives up there. My cousin's going to school there too. There's a good atmosphere up there for sports teams and stuff like that. They have a really nice campus and a really nice field and I liked the coaches, so it just felt really good to go up there."

Perry said he was signed by the pitching coach and will get a look on the mound. …
