ROUNDUP: Fayette County Wins with Balance Attack

FAYETTE | JaTevin Madison caught five passes for 102 yards, including one for a 48-yard touchdown, to lead Fayette County High School to a 33-15 victory over Sulligent on Friday night in prep football aciton.

Drew Guy and Hunter Walker threw touchdown passes for the Tigers, with Guy connecting with Madison and Walker hitting Kordarius Wilson for a 29-yard score. Fayette County also got a 6-yard touchdown run from Mario Wilson, a 7-yard scoring run from Kyle Nalls and a 14- yard touchdown run from Takeo Brock on the way to a 33-point lead going into the final period.

Jordan Gardner ran for a 3-yard score for Sulligent and passed to Jesse Keller for a 14-yard touchdown.

Fayette County (4-1) will host Greene County next Friday. Sulligent (0-5) will host Oakman.

Fultondale 34, American Christian Academy 29

BIRMINGHAM | Leigh Jordan returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown with just 42 seconds remaining as the Fultondale Wildcats stunned American Christian Academy.

ACA had taken a 29-26 lead seconds earlier on a 15-yard run by quarterback Austin Mohlenbrok and a 2-point conversion from Caleb Squires.

Mohlenbrok rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. He also threw two touchdown passes to Carter McGill.

ACA trailed 14-7 at halftime, before it took a 21-14 lead in the third quarter on a 28-yard run by Mohlenbrok and a 3-yard pass from Mohlenbrok to McGill.

The Wildcats answered with touchdown runs from Tom Galbreth and Contavious Stewart for a 26-21 lead heading into the dramatic fourth quarter.

Nelson Brown led the Patriot defense with nine tackles and one sack.

ACA (2-3) travels to Gordo next Friday night.

Hale County 14, Greensboro 0

GREENSBORO | Deacon Medders scored both touchdowns in the Hale County win. Medders scored in the first quarter with 9:11 remaining on a 21-yard run and added the second and final touchdown on an 11- yard run with 1:03 remaining in the third quarter.

Hale County (3-2) plays at R.C. Hatch next Friday. Greensboro (1- 4) hosts Holt.

Marengo Academy 28, Wilcox Academy 6

LINDEN | Hayden Huckabee ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries and went 3 for 4 passing for 92 yards to lead the Longhorns, who improved to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in AISA Class A, Region 2 play. …
