Grant Leads Northside to Romp over Greene County

SAMANTHA | Senior running back Zarrian Grant led a potent rushing attack with 119 yards and three touchdowns in Northside's 62-8 victory over the Greene County Tigers Friday night in a Class 3A, Region 3 game.

Grant led a Rams ground game that amassed 390 yards and nine touchdowns on 45 carries. Five different players found the end zone on the ground for the Rams.

"It's great to see that many guys get involved," Grant said. "One of our main goals is to have a steady running game and we did that tonight."

On the opening drive, Grant intercepted Denzel Davis's pass and returned it deep into Tiger territory. The turnover set up a 21- yard touchdown run by Tanner Colburn.

The Tigers fumbled on their next possession, setting up an 85- yard touchdown run by Grant to increase the lead to 14-0 less than two minutes into the game.

"The kids all bought into what we wanted to do tonight and it showed early on," Northside coach Chris Hilliker said. "Our MO is to run the ball and the team did a great job. …
