Tuscaloosa County Boys Hold off Northridge

NORTHPORT | The Tuscaloosa County Wildcats beat the Northridge Jaguars, 60-53, on Friday to improve to 15-4 on the season.

Northridge fell to 10-12.

Tuscaloosa County maintained control throughout, setting the pace, taking easy baskets when the Jaguars gave them up and limiting mistakes.

In the second quarter, the Wildcats held the Jaguars to five points to take a 33-23 halftime lead.

Northridge was able to find a little more of a groove coming out of the half, scoring 14 points and cutting the Wildcats' lead to seven points, 44-37, heading into the fourth quarter.

Tuscaloosa County strayed away from the game plan that got it the lead in the first place, rushing to make plays where there were none, as opposed to slowing the game down and controlling the pace of the game.

Even so, it was a back-and-forth quarter, with neither offense showing signs of slowing down. …
