TUSCALOOSA | Here is how some former Tuscaloosa-area high school athletes now competing at the collegiate level fared last week:

Men's basketball

Alabama-Huntsville freshman guard

Wayne Dedrick

(Hillcrest High School) averaged 16 points in three NCAA Division II South Region games, including a season-high 27 points in the championship-game loss to Florida Southern. For the season, Dedrick averaged 12.9 points per game and converted 42.5 percent (79-for- 186) of his 3-point shots en route to Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year honors.

Middle Tennessee junior forward

Neiko Hunter

(Greene County High School) scored 10 points and pulled down three rebounds in the Blue Raiders' 67-53 loss to St. Mary's in the NCAA Tournament at Dayton. For the season, Hunter averaged 7.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 33 games for the Ohio Valley Conference champions.

Northeastern sophomore forward

Reggie Spencer

(Hillcrest High School) tallied 10 points and five rebounds in the Huskies' 62-43 loss at Alabama in the first round of the NIT. For the season, Spencer averaged 9.8 points and 6.0 rebounds for the Colonial Athletic Association champions.

Baseball

Alabama senior catcher

Brett Booth

(Tuscaloosa County High School) hit .268 (6-for-23) in five games last week for the Crimson Tide. He had four RBIs in the win over Samford and collected multihit games against Jacksonville State and Georgia.

Alabama senior designated hitter

Cameron Carlisle

(Hillcrest High School) started all five games as the designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with two runs scored in the win at Samford and went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in the series-clinching win at Georgia.

Alabama-Huntsville senior infielder

Vincent Kortbawi

(Hale County High School) went 2-for-4 with three walks and one run scored in rain-shortened two-game week for the Chargers.

Auburn junior left-hander

Terrance Dedrick

(Hillcrest High School) made two relief appearances that totaled six innings against Southern Mississippi and LSU. He allowed four runs and struck out five batters.

East Central Community College sophomore shortstop

Tim Anderson

(Hillcrest High School) tallied four hits and scored six runs in a pair of doubleheaders against Southwest Mississippi and Itawamba.

East Central Community College sophomore infielder

Kalik May

(Tuscaloosa County High School) totaled three hits and one RBI against Southwest Mississippi and Itawamba.

Faulkner University senior right-hander

Johnny Shuttlesworth

(American Christian Academy) ran his record to 6-1 on the season with a complete-game win over Loyola-New Orleans in the first game of the three-game series. He allowed two unearned runs on four hits and added four strikeouts.

Louisiana-Monroe junior first baseman

Corben Green

(Hillcrest High School) hit .333 (3-for-9) in four games last week against Grambling and Troy. He was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in the Warhawks' 4-2 win over Troy in the series opener. …
