PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Hinton's Free Throw Lifts Paul W. Bryant

MONTGOMERY | With one second remaining in the game and the scored tied, Sterling Hinton was fouled and made a free throw to lift Paul W. Bryant to a 43-42 win at the All-AUM Warhawk Prep Classic in Montgomery on Tuesday. The Stampede (8-1) continues play in the tournament today at 1:30 when it plays Hillcrest-Evergreen.

Hinton scored the winning basket, but Matthew Stanton had the most points, leading Bryant with 13 points to go with nine rebounds. Kameron Swift scored 12 points.

Northside 49, Oakman 38

In play at Holy Spirit's Titan Thanksgiving tournament, Northside was a winner against Oakman, led by 17 points from Hayden Long. Both Antwone Cattrell and Andrew Robertson scored eight points. Brandon Moore scored six points and had six rebounds, and Austin Hamner made six rebounds.

On Monday, Fultondale was a 41-26 winner against Northside in the tournament, despite a 12-point effort from Robertson.

Northside (3-1) plays next at Sipsey Valley on Tuesday.

Tuscaloosa Academy 53, Autauga Academy 31

Harrison Standeffer scored 16 points and made seven steals to lead Tuscaloosa Academy. Keonte Chambers scored 15 points.

The Knights (5-1) host North River Christian on Tuesday.

South Lamar 78,

Lamar County 65

MILLPORT | Ninth grader Malik Cox scored a career-high 28 points and made seven rebounds and his brother, senior guard Jydarren Cox scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the win. Joining them in double digits with 13 points was Carson Lindsey.

A trio of Lamar County players scored in double figures, led by 16 points, 12 points from both Alex Wheeler and Austin Spann, and 11 points from Jeremy Denton.

South Lamar (3-0) hosts Sulligent on Monday.

Fultondale 52,

Holy Spirit 36

The teams played for the championship of Holy Spirit's Titan Thanksgiving tournament.

Holy Spirit's scoring leaders were Jordan Giles with 18 points, Brandon Mayhan with 17 and Asa Williams with 16 points. Giles led with eight rebounds as well.

Holy Spirit (3-2) hosts Hubbertville on Tuesday.

Northridge 79, Talladega 72

COLUMBIANA | Northridge (5-1) will play for the championship tonight at the Charles Dickerson Classic hosted by Shelby County High School.

In the semifinal, ShaMarkus Kennedy scored 18 points to lead the win. …
