* Cubs 5, Marlins 2: Junior Lake hit two home runs, Emilio Bonifacio added a two-run shot and host Chicago extended its winning streak to five with a victory against Miami. Jeff Samardzija (2-5) allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings, striking out eight, to earn the win.

* Reds 6, Phillies 5: Jay Bruce homered and drove in three runs and Cincinnati snapped a three-game losing streak with a win against visiting Philadelphia. Todd Frazier also homered and the Reds threw out two runners at the plate to end innings, overcoming homers by Marlon Byrd, Carlos Ruiz and Jimmy Rollins, and sending the Phillies to their seventh loss in eight games.

* Rockies 5, Dodgers 4: Brandon Barnes hit a winning triple off the center-field wall in the 10th inning and host Colorado snapped an eight-game losing streak by beating Los Angeles. The defeat capped a tough day for the Dodgers, who saw outfielder Yasiel Puig and second baseman Dee Gordon leave early because of injuries. Gordon left in the fourth because of discomfort in his right hip and was listed as day to day. Puig was day to day with a strained right hip flexor. He walked in the fifth, slid hard into second on a double-play grounder and didn't take the field in the bottom half.

* Cardinals 5, Blue Jays 0: Shelby Miller (7-5) took a no-hit bid into the sixth inning and finished with a three-hit shutout as St. Louis beat Toronto, snapping the host Blue Jays' six-game winning streak. …
