KEY DATA

* What: The 20th FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) World Cup in which the national teams from 32 countries compete for the world championship.

* Host: Brazil, utilizing 12 stadiums throughout the country.

* When: Thursday-July 13.

* TV: ESPN, ESPN2 and WTAE. All 64 matches will be televised on one of the three networks.

* Defending champion: Spain defeated Netherlands, 1-0, in extra time in 2010.
