Suitable for: Mature tweens and older.

What you should know: Helen Mirren stars in this adaptation of Richard C. Morais' novel as the icy proprietress of a Michelin- starrred French restaurant who is none too happy to see an Indian restaurant open 100 feet away. Barriers buckle and lots of good food is prepared in this family-friendly movie.

Language: Very clean, with just a single s-word.

Sexual situations and nudity: Limited to a few passionate kisses.

Violence/scary situations: A mob with torches sets fire to a business and a woman dies, although the scene is handled with discretion. Fire occurs again but without loss of life although someone suffers burns, from which he recovers. A car loses its brakes, and a bicyclist runs into a car.
