'Farscape' Actress Comes to Pittsburgh Comicon

Article excerpt

Gigi Edgley read the scene in which a beloved "Farscape" character dies and she couldn't believe the note for her character. The show was killing off her love interest, and the actress who played the many-shades-of-gray alien Chiana was being told to just walk away.

There was no way she could let that happen.

"I said [to co-star Ben Browder], you're going to have to rip me off that man, because there's no way I'm going to just say, 'See ya.' And Ben was like, 'OK, method actress.' We went through with the scene and Ben was quite grumpy with me because I was a little bit too physical," she said. "It was just a horrible state of affairs, leaving D'Argo [Anthony Simcoe]. What followed was one of the most successful public campaigns in TV history, in which fans raised a fuss and funds, resulting in the 2004 miniseries.

There are fans still pining for more "Farscape," and Ms. Edgley, 36, is eager to don Chiana's white wig once more.

"Please! My life wouldn't be complete unless I was looking at myself in the mirror and I was that amazing, crazy little minx again," said the actress, who confirmed that there is a movie script. …
