SCOTT - A free senior fair will offer flu shots, health screenings, information for seniors and caregivers, giveaways, door prizes and light refreshments from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday 10/ 22 in Beth El Congregation, 1900 Cochran Road.

Local, state, county and federal government offices, local service providers and businesses will answer questions.

On-site parking is limited. Attendees should consider carpooling or using the complimentary shuttle service provided by Transport U.

AROUND THE WEST - The Trail of Terror, which will benefit the new Pitcher Park skateboard facility, will be open from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Oct. 24 and 25 in Carnegie Park. A Pumpkin Patch area has been set aside for children. Hot dogs, chips, apple cider and hot chocolate will be available.

The annual Children's Halloween Promenade for infants through children in sixth grade will be held Oct. 25 at the Main Street bridge.

Registration begins at noon, and the promenade begins at 1. The event will include treat bags and prizes for favorite costumes.

* In Collier, the 14th annual Night Walk on the Panhandle Trail will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday.

More than 100 pumpkins carved by the Rennerdale Youth Group will line the trail for youngsters and their parents, who are invited to wear costumes.

Treat bags, filled by township Girl Scouts, will be distributed at the quarry to children age 12 and younger. The event will include bonfires, hot cocoa and cider and storytelling. Parking will be available at the Collier Public Works Yard off of Noblestown Road.

The event is free, but donations are welcome.

* The Rennerdale Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor its annual Halloween costume parade at 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at Webb Park.

The event will include costumed youngsters, prizes, refreshments, firetrucks and the Chartiers Valley Marching Band. …
