WHEN IT COMES to being eagle-eyed, people have had a better view of the bald eagles in Western Pennsylvania than the eagles have had of the people. Thanks to a video camera near a nesting site in Hays, people around the world have registered 3.5 million page views in observing the celebrity birds. Next month the attention takes greater flight. The PixController security camera company is setting up two cameras in Hays in mid-December and has entered into a new partnership with the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania to expand educational outreach. The society also has closed on a deal to buy the land surrounding another nesting site on a cliff above the Allegheny River in Harmar, where a camera may eventually be put. At this rate, the eagles are going to have to hire some vulture as an agent.
