It wasn't as close as the score indicated as Javon Turner scored 17 points and sophomore Josh Creach chipped in 15 as Class AAA No. 2 Beaver Falls (4-0, 1-0) won its Section 2 opener at No. 1 Ambridge, 63-56.

Beaver Falls led, 30-19, at halftime and 48-28 after three quarters, but the Bridgers (1-2, 0-1) poured it on in the fourth to cut the deficit to three behind a game-high 24 points from Daylon Carter. But the early hole proved too deep and the Tigers (4-0, 1- 0) pulled away in the final minute.
