The snow will fall and, you will walk in the street up the hill past

the bars where the sons of metal and coal sit to un-remember their

names and identify painfully with each addiction...

There will be tinsel and yet loneliness. Your foot prints will struggle

along, by themselves.

The red wreath on a red brick duplex urban door and the vanilla warm

hued window lights will make you wish this had been your destination.

But, it is not, it was not, and it will never be.

You see Children's Hospital and a tear rolls down

your cheek for the children spending their holiday there.

So close to a gothic-looking cemetery.

So, you say prayers for them, those sweet children and the

women rushing up the hill to mother them, aching in their absence.

And, in your prayer you wish them cures, healing, seasonal joy. …
