Narduzzi Set to Name Wide Receivers Coach

Head coach Pat Narduzzi's inaugural staff at Pitt is nearly complete.

Narduzzi is set to hire Kevin Sherman as his wide receivers coach, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, filling all nine on-field assistant spots for his first year with the Panthers.

An official announcement likely will come within the next few days. The move was first reported by Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated.

Sherman will join Pitt from Purdue, where he spent the past two seasons coaching wide receivers. Before that, he served for seven years as the wide receivers coach at Virginia Tech.

Over the past two years, Purdue's passing game generally has struggled, but Sherman oversaw the development of receiver Danny Anthtop, who had 38 catches for 616 yards in nine games this season before a torn ACL ended his season.

In his time with the Hokies, Sherman coached receiver Jarrett Boykin, now with the Green Bay Packers, and Danny Coale, who was on the Steelers practice squad this season. …
