The word Georgia Manesiotis uses to describe the deer in her Ross neighborhood is "brazen."

"We're plagued by them," she said.

Now she wants to hire a hit man and has gone to the Ross commissioners for help.

Commissioner Chris Eyster has put forth a proposal in which the township would keep a list of township-approved bow hunters who could be contacted by residents who want to reduce the deer population. The bow hunters could shoot from a high vantage point, such as a deck, Eyster said.

Manesiotis, who has lived on Ridgewood Road in White Oak Heights for 46 years, said the deer used to run when they spotted a human, but now they are so bold that they have walked right up the steps to her house. Then there were the deer that wouldn't move out of her neighbor's way when she was trying to leave her house.

"Two bucks were fighting in my front yard and they tore it all up," she said. …
