Defense Continues Push for Teen's Acquittal

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Attorneys for teenager Jordan Brown continued Thursday to push for his acquittal on charges that as an 11-year- old he killed his father's fiancee and her unborn son.

After an hour-long hearing that was closed to the public, the defense team for 17-year-old Jordan said they are seeking an acquittal or a new trial.

The hearing was before Judge John Hodge, the Lawrence County jurist who adjudicated Jordan delinquent - the juvenile court equivalent of guilty - in April 2012 for the shotgun death of Kenzie Houk, 26, and her nearly full-term son.

Judge Hodge made no ruling following the hearing, defense attorney Dennis Elisco said. Prosecutors must file a brief, and the defense will have fourteen days to respond.

Prosecutors deferred comment to the attorney general's office in Harrisburg, where a spokeswoman declined comment. …
