Pittsburgh Band Celebrates Rsd with Hopeful New Single

Meeting of Important People is marking Record Store Day with the release of a new single that will be free to those attending the release show Saturday at The Andy Warhol Museum.

"All Rode Off Together," the first new music from the Pittsburgh power-pop band in more than two years, is a soaring and hopeful rock anthem highlighted by a finale featuring a hometown choir of Pittsburgh singers, including Andre Costello, Zack Keim (Nox Boys), Morgan Erina (Broken Fences) and Max Somerville (Wreck Loose).

"The idea was to do something as a stand-alone single instead of the usual Brit garage rock stuff we've done in the past -- actually have a song last longer than 2 1/2 minutes," says frontman Josh Verbanets.

He wrote it for the Bricolage B.U.S. 9 fundraiser last year, wanting to do "a nice unity tune" about the first day of school and the fear of getting on the bus. …
