Batman and Superman have Comi-con staredown

Batman and Superman engaged in an epic staring contest at Comic- Con.

The first footage from the Warner Bros. superhero mashup "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was unmasked Saturday at the pop- culture convention.

"It's a little teaser," director Zack Snyder told a crowd of 6,500 inside the San Diego Convention Center. "It's a teeny little thing."

The moody, dimly lit footage began with a heavily armored Batman pulling off a tarp and turning on the Bat Signal on a rainy rooftop. With glowing eyes, the bulky Batman looked up to the sky to see a steely Superman his heat vision just beginning to flare up hovering within the light and looking down at the Dark Knight.

That was it.

"I couldn't be happier with the way everything is going," said Snyder, who said he came straight to San Diego from the set of the DC Comics adaptation.

After the teaser, Snyder brought actors Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill on stage, along with Gal Gadot, who will portray Wonder Woman in the film. On behemoth screens surrounding the audience, an image of Gadot in costume, complete with giant sword in hand, was broadcast for the first time.

Disrespect * Aretha Franklin has some harsh words for a server who showed D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T by telling the Queen of Soul she wasn't allowed to eat her takeout inside the restaurant.

A spokesman for Franklin says the situation unfolded Tuesday at a Johnny Rockets restaurant on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.

The spokesman says Franklin ordered a hamburger after performing a sold-out show. But he says the server screamed at Franklin, saying she couldn't sit down to eat because she ordered takeout.

Franklin said in a statement that the worker was "very rude, unprofessional and nasty."

A Johnny Rockets spokeswoman says the franchise owner is sorry for the actions of "a new and very young employee."

She says the owner has spoken with the employee and has clarified his takeout policies.
