Bluenotes: Oshie Wouldn't Mind More Ice Time with Stastny; They Were Together Thursday for First Time; NHL Hockey

OTTAWA * On a line together for the first time this season, either in practice or a game, Blues forwards T.J. Oshie and Paul Stastny were a combined minus-6 in Thursday's 4-1 loss at Montreal.

But Oshie thought the pair had some chemistry and hopes to see more ice time with Stastny. The team had an optional practice Friday, and coach Ken Hitchcock was away from the team, so it's unknown if the two will stay together for tonight's game at Ottawa.

Only a few minutes into Thursday's game, Hitchcock swapped the right wingers on his top two lines, moving Magnus Paajarvi to a line with David Backes and dropping Oshie with Stastny.

"He said we might be switching," Oshie said. "I thought we were really good. Me and 'Stas' showed up on the minus-sheet, but as far as the (offensive) zone play and reading off each other, it got better and better as the game went.

"We were a couple of skates away from putting a couple in the back of the net. So personally, if I stop hanging below the puck and get on top, I think it'll get us more time in the O-zone."

Oshie and Stastny, who were each a minus-3 in Thursday's loss, have some history together. They were linemates, along with Montreal's Max Pacioretty, who had two goals Thursday night against the Blues, for Team USA at the Sochi Olympics.

"I thought we played really well," Oshie said. "We fed off each other really well. Stas is an easy guy to play with because he's always working to get open, always working to make the next play."

'SICK' GOAL

The only offense for the Blues in Thursday's defeat was Vladimir Tarasenko's 11th goal of the season, and what a goal it was. …
