Baxter, Clarence Gordon IV "C.G." C.G. Baxter's travels around the globe and in life came to an end on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 when he suffered a fatal aortic tear. Born May 20, 1966 in St. Louis County, he was the only son of C. Gordon Baxter III and M. Joyce Connelly Baxter, and was a direct descendant of Greenberry Baxter, a pioneer of West St. Louis County, after whom Baxter Road was named. C.G. was an outgoing guy, witty and eager to provoke a laugh from his many friends. He developed a standup comedy routine and appeared at clubs in Missouri and Illinois. His performing skills were honed at Hazelwood High West where his classmates of the Class of 1984 may remember him as the announcer of the football team and as an actor in school theatrical productions. He was also an accomplished woodworker specializing in Victorian porch restorations. He and his late wife Teresa, an artist and interior designer, renovated their historic home in Alton, Illinois. …
