ST. LOUIS > One dies, one wounded in shooting * Two men were shot one fatally Monday morning in the 4400 block of Itaska Street in St. Louis, police said.

Police said officers were sent to the block about 11 a.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds. One of them had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said. The other had a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was in critical condition at a hospital. The shooting was in the city's Bevo Mill neighborhood.

WARREN COUNTY > Father shoots son * An 81-year-old man remained in custody Monday after police say he shot his son twice in the leg. The incident happened Friday morning at a home in the 23000 block of Lost Creek Road, according to police.

Leland S. White Sr., who lives in the 700 block of Lost Creek Road, is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. His bail was set at $100,000.

White's son was airlifted to a hospital. No information was available on his condition Monday. The motive for the attack is unknown.

BRIDGETON > Bicyclist is struck, killed * Bridgeton police on Monday identified a bicyclist struck and killed Friday evening as Duane Johnson, 44, of the 3800 block of Brittany Circle in Bridgeton.

Capt. Steve James of the Bridgeton Police Department said Johnson was hit by a pickup on Gallatin Lane near Woodford Way Drive about 5 p.m. James said that the pickup and bicyclist were heading the same direction on Gallatin and that Johnson died at the scene.

James had no other information about the crash, saying only that the case was still being investigated. The pickup driver remained at the crash scene.

JENNINGS > Gunman wounds motorist * Police are searching for the gunman who shot and wounded a motorist Tuesday night in Jennings.

The victim, 23, was in car in the 8700 block of Jennings Station Road about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. A man armed with a handgun got into the victim's car. They struggled, and the victim was shot once in the shoulder. …
