Elliott Not Showing Disappointment over Blues' Decision

Article excerpt

If Brian Elliott is disappointed over the Blues making Jake Allen their starting goalie for the start of the playoffs, he wasn't letting on Friday.

For the first time since Wednesday's announcement Wednesday, Elliott discussed the decision with the Post-Dispatch.

"That's the coach's decision," he said. "It's nothing I can do, so I control what I can and come here every day with a smile on my face and try to do my best. I'll be ready when called upon. That's how it is right now."

This game comes and goes too fast to get upset about the little things."

Less than two weeks ago, Elliott said that he could sense the Blues were going to give Allen the net assignment against Chicago at United Center. Allen won that game and another against the Blackhawks in a five-day span, both by the score of 2-1.

Did Elliott begin to get the vibe at that point that the Blues would go with Allen in the playoffs?

"I mean, you never try to look ahead," Elliott said. …
