Leadership Greater Topeka Participants Graduating

Participants of Leadership Greater Topeka will graduate Wednesday.

Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce's more than 30 year-old program identifies and teaches potential pioneers how to lead in the community. Participants for the Topeka area, 37 total, will graduate from the program during a ceremony at the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center in the Regency East Ballroom, 420 S.E. Sixth Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Bruce Steinbrock, assistant athletic director for development at the Washburn University Foundation, will be the keynote speaker. Marsha Sheahan, retired vice president of public relations for the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce and the founder of Leadership Greater Topeka, will share her reflections on the program, a news release said.

The Leadership Greater Topeka program includes speakers, lessons, activities, small group discussions, community projects and tours. Members identify ways to address community issues and determine how they can influence decisions about community concerns.

Brandon Evans, at risk behavior intervention para-professional, USD 501, Williams Science & Fine Art Magnet School

Abel Frederic Jr., director of community impact, United Way of Greater Topeka
