COULD I congratulate you on the M.E.N. special Investigation 'Manchester's Homeless: the shocking facts' - at last the information concerning the scale of the crisis in Manchester is being made public - and congratulations have to be given to the sevenweek homeless camp in Manchester city centre.

Homelessness is an issue for everybody, many of those in work may only be a couple of month's wages away from losing their home. In the present economic environment that could be anybody reading this letter.

Successive governments have failed to build the homes we need. In the run up to the recent General Election the three mainstream political parties made manifesto commitments to housing but for many people in housing need it was too little and certainly too late.
