IT was a green - rather than red - carpet rolled out in Salford for the grand opening night of Wicked the musical.

And a host of Coronation Street stars and famous faces headed along to catch the show on its final run of the UK tour.

They included Jennie McAlpine, Katie McGlynn, Sally Dynevor and Dean Fagan.

Meanwhile former Corrie favourite Ian Puleston-Davies headed along with his cute-as-abutton daughter Maggie, aged 8, who was certainly best dressed on the night in her brilliant Wicked green dress and matching shoes.

Ian said: "I've wanted to see the show for a long time now, and I'd been using Maggie as an excuse to come, but she's not wanted to go, but tonight she's finally given in! Her friend's dad, Stephen Pinder, is starring in the show as the Wizard so I think that persuaded her."

It was also a first time at the hit musical for Corrie's Jennie, who has recently returned to filming after maternity leave and will be back on screen imminently. …
