Bombers Stop Sliding

BALTIMORE - Joe Girardi's wishful scenario was for Adam Warren to get through Sunday's fifth inning and wind up as the winning pitcher.

It still worked out for the Yankees, minus the win for Warren - whose days as a starter might be dwindling anyway.

Lefties Chasen Shreve and Justin Wilson combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings and handed the lead to Dellin Betances, finishing off a 5-3 win against the Orioles at Camden Yards to snap a three- game losing streak and remain in a virtual tie with the Rays atop the AL East.

"It's just how this team is, we bounce back."

Wilson pitched the seventh and eighth without allowing a hit or walk.

Caleb Joseph's two-out, RBI single off Warren gave the Orioles (31-31) a 3-2 lead in the fourth, but the Yanks (34-28) took advantage of rookie starter Mike Wright's wildness in the fifth. …
