ZOO GUN HEARINGAfter gun-rights advocate Jeffry Smith announced his plan to carry a gun into the St. Louis Zoo last week, the zoo sought a restraining order blocking Smith from entering with a gun. St. Louis Circuit Judge Joan Moriarty granted the restraining order June 12. The order also applies to anyone working "in concert" with Smith and is in effect until a hearing set for 1:30 p.m. Monday.

PASTRIES FOR A PURPOSE

Piccione Pastry will donate 10 percent of one week's total net sales to a different nonprofit organization in June, July and August. The recipients include CHADS Coalition for Mental Health, June 23-28; Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis, July 21- 26; Queen of Peace Center, Aug. 25-30. Piccione is situated in the Loop at the corner of Delmar and Skinker boulevards. The shop is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The shop is closed on Monday. For more information, call 314-932-1355.
