Exhibit a Fitting Tribute to Fans of 'Hunger Games'

Article excerpt

Chills run down your spine at the entrance to the Hall of Justice when the pink-wigged Effie Trinket welcomes her audience to the Hunger Games via a life-size projection and says, "May the odds be ever in your favor."

It happens again and again as you experience Panem like Katniss Everdeen did -- on Reaping Day in District 12, during training for the games in the Capitol and plotting against President Snow in District 13 -- at The Hunger Games: The Exhibition, now open at Discovery Times Square through Jan. 3.

Fans of "The Hunger Games," the wildly popular dystopian young adult series written by Suzanne Collins and now a blockbuster franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence, won't have to wait until the November premiere of the last film, "Mockingjay, Part 2" to dive into the action. It is, undoubtedly, the ultimate fan experience. Upon entering, visitors are encouraged to download or rent a mobile guide that holds extra content from the exhibit, filters and stickers for social media photos and deleted scenes from the films. Hidden gems placed throughout the exhibit are sure to incite squeals of glee, like the knife that's stuck in the mahogany table on the Tribute Train, or the sudden flash of a Mockingjay on a digital map of Panem that, when pressed, triggers the appearance of District 13. And at the tail end of the exhibit, "The Hunger Games" fandom get a spotlight of their own, through a display of artwork submitted to Lionsgate Films since the movies premiered. …
