Wane's Warriors Hitting Winning Note at Just the Right Time

WIGAN coach Shaun Wane feels the Warriors have gained the winning habit at just the right time of the season.

The Warriors struggled early this year, winning just one of their first four Super League games.

But they ground out a 20-10 win over Widnes on Friday night to ensure they go into the final game of the regular season on the back of three wins from four.

And it was the manner of Friday's victory, rather than the result, which pleased Wane most as he prepares to lead Wigan into the Super 8 play-offs.

"I was really impressed with how Widnes played," he said. "It was one of the best performances they've put in this year. What they threw at us and how they defended was very good but we did enough to find a win and we weren't doing that at the beginning of the season.

"We went to their place and drew (22-22 in February), which was like a loss to me, but we're finding ways to win even if we're not killing it in the way we are playing. …
