CITY have announced the signing of Fulham's Patrick Roberts.

The 18-year-old becomes the fifth new player through the door at the Etihad this summer as the Blues build for next season.

City have been admirers of winger Roberts for some time and the youngster was seen arriving for a medical at Wilmslow Hospital on Saturday - where both Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph were photographed prior to their transfers.

Now the Blues have confirmed the deal.

Teenager Roberts, right, was part of the talented Fulham side which reached the Youth Cup final last year, only to be defeated by the indomitable Chelsea youngsters who beat City over two legs this year.

He made his senior debut in Fulham's 5-0 defeat at City in March 2014 and has played a further 21 times for the Cottagers. Fulham boss Kit Symons spoke on Saturday of the lengths he had gone to to keep Roberts. …
