Hill Believes Rochdale Are on the Up after Impressive Start

ROCHDALE ....................... 2 PETERBOROUGH ............0 Simon Rowbotham MANAGER Keith Hill felt Rochdale's hard miles in pre- season contributed to their convincing opening day win against Peterborough United.

Callum Camps opened the scoring on 18 minutes, before second- half substitute Reuben Noble-Lazarus doubled the lead on 69 minutes.

And the Spotland chief was pleased with his men's positive start, particularly against one of the division's promotion favourites.

"Peterborough will still be a fancied side after that result, I just don't think they knew what they were going to bump into - and I've been witnessing it on the training pitch," said Hill.

"It's not a one-game season by any stretch and you don't know what to expect, but we have been preparing to play like that in certain games during pre-season and training like that.

"We have done a lot of hard work psychologically and I'm asking players to accept the decisions on the pitch.

"I have to forgive them and trust my future to these players and I thought it was a wellexecuted, professional performance against a very good side. …
