This would be true if the world could be taken over by small, plastic dinosaur creatures that reflect the imagination of husband and wife team Refe and Susan Tuma, of Kansas City. In an attempt to bring spontaneity and creativity into the busy lives of their family, two harried parents staged dino-destruction scenes around the house, to the delight and surprise of their young children. Photos and descriptions shared with friends and family led to a full-color picture book that will captivate the imagination of readers of all ages.

"Gaby, Lost and Found" by Angela Cervantes, 2013, Scholastic, 220 pages, ages 9-12.

Gaby feels a bit like the pets she cares for as a volunteer at the local animal shelter -- homeless and unwanted.
