Passing on a 2-Way Street Narduzzi Insistent Peterman, Voytik Can Co- Exist at QB

AKRON, Ohio - When presented with the old football adage of, "If you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one" after Pitt's 24-7 win Saturday night against Akron, coach Pat Narduzzi made his thoughts on that idea pretty clear.

"I totally disagree with that," Narduzzi said. "It's all how you play."

Narduzzi made it plenty clear after the game Saturday that he believes Chad Voytik and Nate Peterman can be successful for the Panthers this season.

To his credit, that has been the case the first two games. Voytik saw the majority of the snaps in Pitt's season-opening 45-37 win against Youngstown State, and Peterman played most of the game against the Zips.

Moving forward, Narduzzi said it will remain an open competition to see who gets more playing time.

"You make a coaching decision, coach [offensive coordinator Jim] Chaney felt good with it and I was right with him," Narduzzi said. "We've got two good quarterbacks and Nathan just seemed to run the huddle better, move the ball down the field and put the ball where it needed to be."

For Peterman, the game Saturday marked, essentially, the most playing time he has seen in his college career. …
