The woman, 50, and her granddaughter were found by hotel staff about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn at 4901 Six Flags Road. They were both found clothed and in bed, and each had died of a gunshot wound, said Lt. David Wilson of the Eureka Police Department.

Police did not divulge information about the crime until Wednesday.

Autopsies were being conducted Wednesday.

Wilson said the woman and girl had checked into the hotel on Monday. …
