Fans Furious as City and United's Christmas Fixtures Are Switched

CITY and United fans have reacted with fury after fixture changes left them facing travel headaches.

The latest batch of matches, over Christmas and New Year, have been selected for live TV coverage.

United's trip to Bournemouth has been moved to a 5.30pm kick-off on Saturday, December 12. The last direct train back to Piccadilly leaves the south coast at 6.47pm, during the second half of the match.

The only current scheduled flight from Bournemouth to Manchester that day is at 7am so it means fans will have to take the coach, drive, or lay out extra cash on a hotel to stay over.

Meanwhile, the Reds' trip to Stoke on Boxing Day has been moved to a 12.45pm kick-off despite no trains running.

City fans face a similar problem for their game at Arsenal. That has been moved to Monday December 21, kicking off at 8pm.

There is just one train leaving London for Manchester after the match, the 11pm service from Euston to Piccadilly.
