WILFRIED Bony admits 2015 has been the worst year of his career after struggling for game time and fitness.

But as City need a replacement for star striker Sergio Aguero, who injured himself on international duty with Argentine, the former Swansea striker is ready to put his Blues misery behind him.

It simply hasn't happened so far for Bony. Signed by City as a powerful forward proven in the Premier League and almost never injured, the Ivorian has not yet lived up to such billing.

Game time at the Etihad has been reduced by a litany of issues.

Prolonged involvement at the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast, injury, illness and Manuel Pellegrini's switch to a solitary striker from April onwards have all hindered the big man's opportunities to shine for his new club.

The 26-year-old accepts things haven't gone the way he would have hoped, but is confident of a change in fortune.

"A lot of crazy things have happened since I joined City and I've been ruled out with injury three or four times, so it's been hard to find any rhythm playing one or two games here and there," he said.

"It's been the worst spell of my career without question - in the past five years I'd never missed more than two games in a row.

"At Swansea I only missed a handful of matches and that was mostly because of a red card I received. …
