Palestinians detail alleged crimes by Israelis for world court

Palestinian leaders handed on Friday what they called evidence of Israeli crimes committed in the recent outburst of violence to prosecutors at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.

Foreign Minister Riad Malki said the Palestinians submitted details to Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda of what they described as extra- judicial killings of Palestinians as well as home demolitions and other forms of collective punishment.

The preliminary ICC investigation aims to establish if there are grounds to open a full-scale investigation. It is unclear when it will be completed.

Israel's ambassador to the Netherlands, Haim Divon, said Palestinian leaders were attempting to "misuse the ICC as a stage for promoting their political agenda."

Greek official denounces EU's response to migrants * Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said he was "ashamed" Friday after at least 27 people, more than half of them children, drowned in the Aegean Sea as refugees desperately try to reach Europe before winter sets in.

Thousands of refugees, many escaping the Syrian civil war that has raged for 4 years, are trying to reach Europe in crowded boats and rubber dinghies even as temperatures drop.

Explosion on bandstage in Romania kills 26 * An explosion on a bandstage at a Bucharest nightclub on Friday left 26 people dead and 145 hospitalized with injuries, Romania's interior minister said.

Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea said the explosion occurred at a downtown club in the city of 3 million people.

Digi 24 television station cited witnesses who said the explosion came after a spark on a stage where a band was performing ignited some of the polystyrene decor.
