aSHOCKED mum claims she discovered half a dead mouse in a frozen cabbage she had bought from supermarket chain Farmfoods.

Sarah Jane Shields, 27, took the Pounds 1 pack of sliced cabbage from her freezer but when she began to boil it her friend Joanne Tiggin saw something dark and furry in the pan.

Joanne, 34, said: "I thought 'what the hell is that?' It was black and furry and you could see it was half a mouse.

"You could see its guts and intestines. Its tail and legs weren't there."

Sarah went to the branch of Farmfoods in Little Hulton, Salford, where she bought the cabbage and was promised a 'full investigation'.

She said she brought the mouse with her in a bag but the member of staff who spoke to her didn't want to look it and viewed a picture of it on Sarah's phone instead.

Sarah, who runs a carpet cleaning business, had been preparing a tea of minted lamb chops and cabbage for her children Kaitlyn, eight, and Courtney, five.

She took the frozen cabbage she had bought last week from her freezer. …
