Rose State Site to Bloom in Main Street Parking Garage

OKLAHOMA CITY - A Midwest City college will have a downtown presence by spring 2016.

Rose State College will join two other metro schools when it opens a location on the south side of the Main Street Parking Garage, the space formerly occupied by Becky's Hallmark. The University of Central Oklahoma has three sites downtown and Oklahoma City University moved its law school to the area as well.

Construction has started and the doors will open in the spring, said Tamara Pratt, associate vice president of strategic communications and marketing at Rose State.

She said the college's space will be unlike the other university- based centers in the area. While some details are still in the works, she said it will deal with corporate training.

The site is a partnership with Creative Oklahoma. The groups have worked together since the spring, and put their partnership to use in elementary schools through the Dream Machine program, in which young students dream up a device and Rose State students create a prototype. …
