McAlester Hospital Proposes New Emergency Department

MCALESTER - Voters will go to the polls Feb. 9 to decide if the McAlester Regional Health Center will be allowed to build a new emergency department.

The new facility is expected to decrease wait times for patients seeking emergency treatment.

The vote will ask residents to allow the hospital to borrow money for the project. The project does not include any taxation component.

Hospital executives presented McAlester city councilors with early plans for the project, including introductions of finance adviser Bill Wilson of Lancaster Pollard of Lawrence, Kansas, and architect David Wright of Health Facilities Group Architecture of Tulsa.
