Hacking Pranksters Put Isis Slogan on School's Website

EDUCATION bosses say a hacking attack which saw an Isis slogan posted on a primary's school website could be an 'irresponsible prank'.

Police have been called in after St Luke's CE Primary School website was hijacked by a computer hacker yesterday morning.

The Heywood school's website showed only a cryptic symbol and a message reading: 'ANNOUNCEMENT: HACKED BY ISIS. Hacked By MRX'.

However detectives say there was 'no reason to believe this was a terrorist incident' and officials at Rochdale council say the attack could be an 'irresponsible' prank by an individual.

Gail Hopper, director of children's services at Rochdale council, said: "We are currently looking into the circumstances behind the website being altered. It is important to emphasise that it affects only the public-facing pages. …
