WITH Christmas creeping ever closer, it's the perfect time to get out and about, blow off the cobwebs and maybe even start your Christmas, for the classic and traditional to the quirky and unusual, you'll be sure to find some wonderful gifts and have a great time at one of these upcoming events.

MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT Head to the newly refurbished Festival Hall in Alderley Edge on Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 November at 10am for the Mind, Body, Spirit annual event. There are over 30 exhibitors including international mediums Simon Goodfellow, Ali Mather and others; international healers such as crystal bed healing, shamanic healing, Reiki, chiropractic Dr, body talk; retailers of beautiful crystals, healing jewellery, dionic energy bracelets, yoga mats and much more.

Start the day with an opening meditation, relaxing, reviving, empowering - there is a full schedule of talks and workshops being held which goes right through until 6pm.

The last workshop of each day is Star Magic Healing with Jerry Sargeant.

This event is sure to lift your spirit!

Advanced tickets cost Pounds 3.50 or Pounds 3 for concessions with full weekend passes priced at Pounds 6 or Pounds 5 for concessions, all tickets are Pounds 1 extra on the door.

CHRISTMAS MODEL RAILWAY SHOW Manchester is home to one of the oldest model railway societies in the world and to mark its 90th anniversary is staging an exhibition at the Barnes Wallis Building, Altrincham Street - just three minutes walk from Piccadilly station.

Exhibition coordinator, Philip Sweet, said: "Manchester is the only major city in the UK to host a model railway exhibition in its centre, and it will be a great one! In addition to 17 high quality railway layouts, we have a wide range of traders and a special guest appearance of a layout which has never been exhibited in public before, yet has been seen by millions of people - Roy Cropper's train layout from Coronation Street. The exhibition is on Saturday, 5 and Sunday, 6 December. Admission is just Pounds 8 for adults, with going children free. …
