Why Do These Students Expect a Nanny State Bailout?

On the evening of Nov. 12, the Post-Gazette reported that traffic came to a virtual standstill in some parts of Oakland as hundreds of people participated in a national effort called the Million Student March ("Local College Students Join Million Student March"). The march was part of a countrywide protest.

Participation in the march included yet another segment of the population demanding free stuff. They demand the nanny state take care of their student debt and give them a free education and a higher minimum wage. Furthermore their medical care must be free.

What's next? Free housing, video games, cellphones, spring break vacations, Internet and transportation? Employment guaranteed by the government?

Forget about the fact that this group of protesters violated the rights of others when they disrupted traffic in the area and interfered with access to roadways. …
